The Fundació Catalunya – La Pedrera organises family activities all year round. Just a reminder that you can still enjoy them during this last quarter of the year: a very special weekend activity for the whole family, in which parents and children share a fun, playful and educational experience, discovering the most hidden corners of La Pedrera, the magic of the Món Sant Benet monastery and the essence of MónNatura Pirineus and MónNatura Delta de l’Ebre.

Below are the activities on offer from October to December 2013.

Workshops at LA PEDRERA

– The DeProp series (family) (ages 3 and up)
The Pinker Tones will present their book/CD ‘Rolf & Flor’ live in an acoustic show for the whole family where, as well as singing the songs from the album, they’ll tell this entertaining story with the help of live illustrations by Miguel Gallardo, one of the undisputed masters of Barcelona comics since the 1980s.
Date: 27 October (Advance tickets at www.lapedrera.com and at the La Pedrera box offices)

– Un cau de mil secrets (the musical) (ages 8 and up)
La Pedrera’s musical, with music by Joan Vives and lyrics by Piti Español. The story and songs, inspired by Gaudí’s work, will take young and old on a fantastic adventure at Casa Milà, travelling back and forth between the present day and early 20th-century Barcelona. The beauty of our heritage will lead us to look closely at things so we can see beyond appearances and explore ideas such as respect for difference and learning to be responsible, and, above all, do it light-heartedly through music.
Dates: 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 November and 1 December (Advance tickets at www.lapedrera.com and at the La Pedrera box offices)

– Let’s be architects (ages 7 to 12)
From a secret room we’ll travel back in time to find out which elements of nature inspired Gaudí and what architectural challenges he faced at La Pedrera. Dates: 5 October and 2 November

– Operation Gaudí
We’ll carry out a thorough investigation in the workshop to try to find an unknown work by the brilliant architect Antoni Gaudí.
Dates: 12 October and 9 November

– La Pedrera, 100 years ago (ages 7 to 12)
Through games, role-play and period costume, we’ll get to know the social groups who strolled around the Barcelona of 1900: the bourgeoisie, the artists, the craftsmen and the workers.
Dates: 19 October and 16 November

– Indiana Stones: Let’s explore! (ages 5 to 12)
We’ll turn into Indiana Stones to discover the nature that fills La Pedrera’s spaces, exploring every one of its corners.
Dates: 26 October and 23 November

– Badalots embadalits (ages 5 to 12)
We’ll discover the great artists of Modernisme (Catalan Art Nouveau) and become painters like Santiago Rusiñol or Ramon Casas. La Pedrera’s skylights will be the setting for the drawings we put down on paper.
Dates: 1 and 30 November

– Stone soup for Christmas (ages 4 to 12)
The workshop kicks off with a reading of a Christmas story set in the La Pedrera of the early 20th century, based on the tale ‘La sopa de pedres’ (Stone Soup) but adapted especially for the occasion. In an arts and crafts workshop we’ll then make some characters to act out the story.
Dates: 6, 7, 14, 21, 23, 24, 27, 28 and 31 December

Once they’ve cooled, we’ll decorate them with chocolate, sugar and other sweets so that we can all go home with our own biscuit.
