Mercedes Roglá exhibition in Barcelona, Galería ArtevistasSpring has brought this exhibition of oil paintings by Mercedes Roglá to Barcelona, and it won’t leave anyone indifferent. The paintings convey an exciting contrast of explosive pink, grey and black brushstrokes that evoke flowers coming back to life at this time of year.

True to her artistic style, Mercedes Roglá reveals the world of her flowers to anyone willing to feel them: flowers that express different moods and that have evolved over the course of her career.

The work will be on show until 20 April 2014 at Galería Artevistas, at Passatge del Crèdit 4, in the centre of the Gothic Quarter.

Here’s a curious fact: this delightful passage was built around 1875 by Magí Rius i Mulet, on the site of what had been the Convent of La Esperanza. It still keeps its original iron structure and a little lodge that belonged to the building’s porter.

What’s more, number 4 is precisely where the painter Joan Miró was born. What better source of inspiration for a gallery! 😉
