Un Dia de Nassos: a nose-tastic day with Pallapupas
Every October, Pallapupas organises a big event, ‘Un Dia de Nassos’ (literally ‘A Day of Noses’; in Catalan, ‘de nassos’ also means ‘brilliant’), a major occasion in which around 20,000 people take part by buying discounted charity tickets for leisure venues such as Barcelona Zoo, Tibidabo, the Barça Museum and up to 20 family attractions throughout Catalonia.
All the proceeds from the event go to the NGO Pallapupas, a leading care organisation in Catalonia which every year brings laughter to more than 35,000 children admitted to Catalan hospitals, and to their families, to help them emotionally through their illness and their time in hospital.
Under the slogan ‘Pasarlo bien nunca había tenido tanto valor’ (Having fun has never been worth so much), the NGO Pallapupas is holding the sixth edition of its charity celebration ‘Un Dia de Nassos’ this year, which will take place over the weekend of 3 and 4 October all over Catalonia.
This year’s ambassador is the actor and presenter Sergi Mas. More than 20 family leisure venues will answer Pallapupas’s charity call, with reduced-price tickets in aid of the NGO:
- Barcelona Zoo
- Tibidabo
- the Museu del Barça and Camp Nou Experience
- the Fundació Miró
- the Museu de la Xocolata
- Catalunya en Miniatura
- the Ruïnes d’Empúries, among many others.
On those days they’ll give part of their ticket price so that the Pallapupas can keep filling hospitalised children in Catalonia with smiles.
This edition will also include charity menus at restaurants, charity pizzas and cinema tickets, all in aid of Pallapupas’s cause: filling those who need it most with life through humour.
The NGO is inviting everyone to literally put on the Pallapupas smile, which can be downloaded, printed and cut out at www.palllapupas.org from 2 September.
What’s more, everyone can join in by dancing the special choreography the Pallapupas have created to the song ‘Tot és possible’ by Billy Boom Band, which can also be seen on the Pallapupas website and the organisation’s main social media channels.
Pallapupas is also calling on civil society to organise charity initiatives to raise donations and keep adding smiles at times of illness and pain.
Pallapupas is a leading care organisation that brings laughter to more than 40,000 people (children, older people and people with mental health conditions) every year, in 12 hospitals and health centres throughout Catalonia.
