La Cuina d’en Garriga, deli and café
A small, charming place that works as a deli selling quality products with designation-of-origin status, where you can also enjoy breakfast or an afternoon snack, or even graze on something for lunch, picking whatever has caught your eye.
A corridor lined with neatly arranged products leads to the only table in the place, where you may well end up chatting with the odd stranger while you eat. There are plenty of options for nibbling, such as cheeses, cured meats and things on toast, but they also serve natural, home-made food.
La Cuina d’en Garriga doesn’t just sell food but also kitchen utensils, and in fact the inspiration behind this little business is the soda siphon. You can’t quite make it out in the picture, but if you look behind the letter G you can just about spot this ‘tool’, indispensable for vermut (the local vermouth aperitif). If you visit the La Cuina d’en Garriga website, you’ll see the story behind it.
I’ve been there several times for breakfast and once or twice for a little aperitif of cheese and wine, and as well as enjoying the setting, I’ve educated my palate.
