In Barcelona you can enjoy lots of terraces with spectacular and varied views, and for much of the year too, thanks to the sunshine and the temperatures we’re blessed with. The weather changed for the better a few days ago, and although April is supposed to be the month of showers, so far it’s holding up.

Here’s a reminder of some of the best terraces in Barcelona, most of them in hotels, as more and more hotels are deciding to open up their rooftops and outdoor spaces so that we can enjoy Barcelona over a drink with our nearest and dearest.

Funnily enough, this hotel stands where my old offices used to be! What memories… So I get a double kick out of including it. The truth is that the terrace has spectacular views. It has a cocktail menu, and mojitos are its speciality.

Hotel Royal Passeig de Gràcia terrace, Barcelona

  • The Atic terrace at the Hotel Pullman Barcelona Skipper

A terrace with a bar, swimming pool and sun deck looking out over the open sea, with Frank Gehry’s golden fish for company.

Barcelona terrace, Hotel Pullman Skipper

This is a terrace overlooking both sides of the hotel. Cosy and pleasant, it has a small pool, sun loungers, a restaurant area and a cocktail bar. The views are of a more alternative Barcelona, but they’re still striking once the sun goes down.

Hotel Gallery terrace – The Top, Barcelona

  • More of a rooftop than a terrace: Hotel DO

This hotel’s rooftop has been turned into a terrace with a pool and restaurant. It has charming views over Plaça Reial and the Gothic Quarter in general, with the odd bell tower poking up between the old buildings.

Views from the Hotel DO terrace, Barcelona

You can see from Tibidabo all the way to the sea, with Passeig de Gràcia at your feet as the city’s main artery.

Hotel Casa Fuster terrace, view of Barcelona

A more secluded view over La Rambla, from where you can see the bell towers of Barcelona’s Gothic churches rising up, such as the bell tower of Santa Maria del Pi in the middle of the picture. A small, romantic terrace for a toast at sunset. Closed to the public on Sundays and Mondays.

Hotel Bagués terrace, views of Barcelona

Right on the Rambla del Raval you’ll find this hotel’s terrace, with 360-degree views over Barcelona. The terrace is open from May to October, weather permitting, and serves all kinds of cocktails. It can also be booked for private parties.

And a few more…

  • Hotel Majestic terrace: the sea, Montjuïc, Passeig de Gràcia, the Sagrada Família and sunshine. What more could we want?
  • Hotel Condes de Barcelona terrace: a rooftop-level view across Passeig de Gràcia, with La Pedrera in the background.
  • Hotel Claris terrace: here we can enjoy the rooftops of the Eixample.
  • Hotel 1898 terrace: Tibidabo as a backdrop on one side and the sea on the other.
  • Hotel Ohla Barcelona terrace: views over Via Laietana at rooftop level.
  • Grand Hotel Central terrace: from the Sky Bar you can see Torre Agbar, the Mapfre towers and Santa Maria del Mar as if they were a scale model.
  • B Hotel Barcelona terrace: next to Las Arenas, B Hotel offers views of Plaça d’Espanya and Montjuïc.
  • Hotel Silken Diagonal terrace: right by Plaça de les Glòries, it gives us a surprising close-up of Torre Agbar.
  • Hotel Melià Barcelona Sky terrace: formerly Hotel ME, it has the Dos Cielos terrace, where you can enjoy a Michelin-starred meal.
  • Hotel Miramar terrace: halfway up Montjuïc, Hotel Miramar commands lovely views of Barcelona’s port, the cable car and the sea. It has a pool and a terrace, but the views can be enjoyed from its gardens.
  • Hotel La Florida terrace: it’s on Tibidabo, so the whole of Barcelona lies at our feet. Mind you, it’s a little way out of the city.

So there you have a few more terraces with different views of Barcelona, from the port to the mountains by way of the heart of the city. If you’re spending your summer in Barcelona, there’s no excuse for being bored!

And here are some more stunning views of Barcelona, just as incredible or even better! 😉
