One of the best furniture and homeware shops in Barcelona, and I’d even go so far as to say in Spain, is Azul Tierra. Toni Espuch, the owner and soul of the business, is the one who travels the world acquiring objects and furniture with a special personality. He has had a shop in Alicante for 20 years, and this one in Barcelona has been open for 10.

Azul Tierra homeware shopToni, who is charming to deal with and has a very personal style, showed us the shop’s new premises with his little dog Pablo (a very funny dachshund with bulging eyes): it’s moving one block further into the Eixample, gaining space both in the shop and in the storeroom.

The new space is huge and, although they’re still in the middle of moving, it already has a warm, welcoming, exquisite feel. Objects and furniture from all over the world, modern paintings with flair, hand-cut glassware, personal and home fragrances: a shop in warm colours with everything you need to decorate any space and give it atmosphere.

They also take on interior design projects and have done several restaurants and private homes. For Toni, getting to know the client is essential before taking on a project, so he can choose what suits them best.

The new shop will open in September. And from then on, some Thursdays they’ll be turning the space over to jazz and drinks.
