Quimet & Quimet tavern, BarcelonaQuimet & Quimet is a Poble Sec classic. Four generations of Quimets have kept the tavern going right up to the present day. And no wonder: it offers a wide range of both tapas and drinks from its cellar, which you have standing up in the first free corner you can find.

Its huge selection of wines, vermouths, cavas and whiskies, which you can try on the spot or buy to take home, fills the place with a strong smell of alcohol that took me a while to get used to. They also make their own Quimet & Quimet beer, smooth and toasty.

Although it’s small, and at times maybe even a bit cramped, it’s a typical neighbourhood tavern where it’s best to go for a few tapas when you’re in no hurry and feeling patient. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, the place has a lot of charm and it brings back the days when the Paral·lel was buzzing with its most Canaille atmosphere.
