Another Barcelona restaurant worth keeping in mind

For a while now, hotel restaurants have been breaking away from the image we used to have of them. Now we see them as one more option among the many places to eat that Barcelona has to offer.

The paradigm of hotel restaurants in Barcelona has changed.

Today we’re talking about the restaurant at the Hotel Negresco Princess. A restaurant in the centre of Barcelona, quiet and full of light at lunchtime, that’s open to anyone who wants to try its delights.

With Jon García as chef, the hotel offers a set lunch menu that is light and informal, yet also elaborate and elegant. The menu changes every week with seasonal, locally sourced produce, following the ever more firmly rooted #km0 and #realfood trend.

There are two options:

  • Full menu at €20, which includes a starter, a main course and dessert or coffee.
  • Express menu at €14.50, which includes a main course and dessert or coffee. An option we’d recommend for people who work in the area and want a quick, light lunch.

The Negresco Restaurant lunch menu is available Monday to Friday, from 13:00 to 15:30.

In the evening you can also enjoy the restaurant, with seasonal dishes or a tasting menu.

On special dates, Jon García comes up with bold, different ideas. For example, with Valentine’s Day coming up, he’s offering a tasting menu in which every course has been crafted down to the last detail so that each dish is a ‘festival of love’ for diners.

Running the bar at the Negresco Cocktail Bar is Yhanna Prado, a bartender with a long track record.

She’ll soon be presenting her new menu, starring local liqueurs (Aromas de Montserrat, ratafia, malvasia…), reviving home-grown liqueurs that are usually missing from cocktail bar menus.

On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, there’s live music at the bar. Cocktail, tapa and music: a ménage à trois you won’t be able to turn down for after-work drinks.
